How are you dealing with America’s 250th Anniversary July 4th weekend? At a time when the news headlines are all about how Trump and his followers are “celebrating” their view of America in our nation’s capital and across the country, what are you seeing, thinking, feeling?
What if anything are you doing to celebrate America’s 250th birthday?
Given the American story that we’ve each witnessed over the course of our lives, I invite us all to share what this moment in that story is looking like to us today. In service of our shared vision of helping to welcome a time of healing and renewal that could lie ahead.

On the one hand, I love my country, and have lived all my life believing in the best of our American ideals that are embodied in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.
On the other hand, I am disgusted with the mockery of those ideals on full display in our nation’s capital being perpetrated by Trump and his abject boot-lickers in Congress and the Supreme Court.
So how can I celebrate on this 4th of July? This year I’m skipping our local 4th of July parade on Main Street. I’ll be at home, reading, contemplating, watching old classic American movies. And reaching out to you, my fellow War Babies, to see how we might join hands at this historic moment.
